Our firm is delighted that our partner Walter Lee was invited again together with a number of distinguishing scholars, including Professor Joseph Jao-yiu Sung, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, by the Environmental Campaign Committee to be adjudicators for the Sectoral Awards scheme that grants awards to organizations of designated sectors with an overall outstanding environmental performance.
The Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) is organised by the Environmental Campaign Committee. It is striding into its fifth year in 2012, and has been recognized by the community as one of the most prestigious and reputable award schemes in Hong Kong. In line with the Hong Kong Government mission and to cater for the need of the community, the HKAEE aims to encourage businesses and organizations to adopt green management and present them with an opportunity to benchmark their commitment towards environmental excellence. The assessment criteria for the Sectoral Awards are based on the well established “Eco-Business Model”. This model is designed to exemplify the strong relationship between the internal workings of a business and the surrounding environment. The key factors, including Green Leadership, Programme and Performance and Partner Synergy, are generally considered to be vital in the overall integration of environmental measures within an organization.
The adjudication meetings for the 2012 HKAEE were held earlier this month (see photographs). Walter Lee has served as a Member of the Awards Committee on HKAEE for four years.
