On 18 November 2025, the Practice Management Committee of The Law Society of Hong Kong organised a seminar titled “Legal AI: Ethics, Opportunities & Risks”, where over 60 lawyers gained insights from legal and technology experts through a panel discussion, live demonstrations and hands-on trial sessions. Our Managing Partner, Mr Philip Wong, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Law Society Practice Management Committee, opened the seminar with his keynote speech, highlighting the importance of responsible adoption of emerging technologies within the legal profession. He emphasised that AI is a pivotal tool for enhancing legal service efficiency, cost-effectiveness and quality. His leadership underscores a commitment to guiding the profession through the digital transformation, ensuring law firms and the wider legal community are well-positioned to meet evolving client demands with innovation and strategic excellence. The event featured expert insights from guest speakers including Mr. Brian Tang, Founding Executive Director of LITE Lab @ HKU, and Mr. Alan Chiu, Vice-Chair of PMC.
